Team Spotlight for October - Leah Wills, Operations Manager
1) How long have you been at Prevail and what is your position?
7 years, Operations Supervisor. I have also held the titles Database and Reporting Coordinator, Youth Advocate, and Victim Notification Advocate at Prevail.
2.) What do you like most about working for Prevail?
I love working for an organization that makes decisions based on what is best for the client, and values their employees.
3.) Who is your hero?
I honestly do not have one.
4.) What is your favorite quote?
"Courage, dear heart." – C.S. Lewis
5.) What would you sing at Karaoke night?
Guns and Ships - Hamilton
6.) What motivates you the most to serve others?
There is a gap in our community when it comes to protecting and helping those who are in pain because of something that someone else chose to do. I decided one day that I wanted to fix that, and every day that gap still exists and every day I choose to try and fix it.
7.) If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Tacos with guacamole.
8.) What is your proudest accomplishment?
Carrying twins past full term.
9.) What animal do you most identify with, and why?
An owl, clever and strong.
10.) Favorite Prevail memory?
I had a client visit the office years after working with them who was doing well and just wanted to come in and say hi. When they walked into my office they said, “you probably don’t remember me” (which is a huge possibility when you work with many different humans), and to both of our surprise I did remember them. It was a beautiful moment and gift.
11.) Favorite self-care practice?
Moving my body- boot camps, volleyball, yoga. Trauma lives in the body and movement releases it.
